The melodic rock band Brookside was formed in the suburbs of New York City on Long Island in 2001. The group released a handful of demos, began playing the Northeast region, and did its first full U.S. tour in August 2003, until an EP, This Means Goodbye, was self-released in the spring of 2004. Between the summer of 2004 and 2005, Brookside toured relentlessly in support of the EP, logging in thousands of miles with three full U.S. tours, and several short stints throughout the Midwest and Northeast. In addition, the group earned a spot on the Ernie Ball Stage of the Vans Warped Tour in New York City in August 2005. This spot was won through an online battle of the bands, whereby the fans select who they want to play. In early 2006, the group again took to the road with two full U.S. tours in the summer and fall of 2006. Following some lineup changes, in 2007 the group continued playing around the northeast, and in the summer of 2008, Brookside took to the Midwest again with a two week summer tour. 2009 began with Brookside, Matt Baard (vocals/guitar), Lenny Machado (guitar), Kevin Nunes (bass) and Jason Duda (drums), releasing a full length cd. The group embarked on its 7th full U.S. tour in April 2009 in support of the record. Brookside also began its extremely enjoyable and successful relationship with Hot Topic, by playing acoustic as part of the Local Static events in malls around the U.S. The remainder of 2009 was spent playing locally around the Northeast. In January 2010, Brookside embarked on its first ever international tour, by hitting the U.K. for two weeks. The tour, completely self-funded and self-booked, took the band all over England, as well as Wales, and was a complete success. The band went back in May 2010 for three weeks this time, hitting England, Wales, and Scotland. The remainder of 2010 will be spent writing new material for a release.
